BuzzD has partnered with Time Out and Flavorpill, an online cultural events newsletter. Helio will be the first carrier of BuzzD.

For Election Coverage, Big Media Turns to Citizen Journalists [MarketingVOX]
MTV, Associated Press, and the New York Times will feature user-generated content in their election reporting. Purplestates.tv’s UGC video clips will run in the Times’ op-ed section, and AP is working with MTV to recruit student journalists, who will submit video, blog, animation, podcast, or photo reports every week.

MySpace Adds New Channel for Video [Adweek]
MySpace has created a new channel called PrimeTime, which will show video from NBC’s Hulu and MySpace TV.

Kids ages 6-11 prefer games over online social networking (and just about everything else), according to Mediamark Research and Intelligence. Over 78% of the kids questioned played online games within the last 30 days.

Viewers Want More Shows, Movies Online; YouTube Rules [MarketingVOX]
A recent Harris Poll shows that more people are turning to online video to supplement their traditional viewing habits. Online video viewership increased this year from 74% to 81%, and YouTube viewers have increased the most, from 42% to 65%.

MTV Taps Bruckheimer to Craft Videogames [Wall Street Journal]
Television and film producer Jerry Bruckheimer—of CSI and Pirates of the Caribbean fame—has signed a deal to create video games for MTV. Other Hollywood heavyweights have also broken into the lucrative and rapidly expanding gaming industry. Director Steven Spielberg has agreed to create three original games for Electronic Arts.

Fuser Launches a MySpace Killer; On Facebook [Mashable]
Fuser has launched a Facebook application that allows users to see their MySpace messages, comments, and bulletins from within the Facebook site. Fuser will soon add a reply through Facebook function. Lending itself to viral distribution, the application also adds a widget to your Facebook profile, showing your MySpace communications.
