Now, spearheading the NGT “Next Great Thing” practice group of Fleishman-Hillard, one of the world’s largest public relations firms, Alan focuses on how companies can communicate with young people across the world more effectively in view of the emerging online and interactive channels.
Perhaps Alan interacts with young people all the time, he came across during our interview as a very dynamic and energetic character.
Offering his advice to young people in China who are interested in leveraging the emerging trends to start their own businesses, Alan said that there are just great opportunities as posed to young people nowadays, especially in China. For example, the local music scene is maturing and growing very rapidly, which could serve as an interesting platform, because currently there are not a lot of sophisticated online music portals or integrated channels in China focusing on local music. He suggested that with the growing popularity of blogging in China, there could be business opportunities to marry portals, mobile communications with blogs for artist promotions and song download.
