Lifecasting

by rambam

Lifecasting is a new trend where young people are using UGC (user-generated content) as a vehicle to broadcast their entire life. We have been seeing this unfold on mainstream sites like Youtube and Bolt and through some of the new more narrowly focused social networking sites (SNS).

You can really see this trend come to life through an application like Waymarkr, which allows individuals to use their cell phones to continuously take photos of every event in their life. All of the photos are uploaded to the Waymarkr website so you don’t have to rely on your phones internal memory. Plus, you can see other user’s photos that were taken at the same time and place as your photos, giving you an alternate perspective on your own experiences.
