Behavioral Targeting

2007 is going to be the year for Behavioral Targeting (BT). Social networking sites are going to revolutionize how we use and source information for this new media targeting model. This will become even more apparent when MySpace finally goes through its Fox redesign and starts to really function like a portal.

Japan’s Mixi is a great example of how compartmentalized you can make an SNS site. Gross impressions will eventually be secondary as reach will need to combine both demographic and behavioral information to measure 1:1 impressions or engagements rather than just GRP’s.
