Mobile Music Revenues to Surge, Juniper Research Finds [Marketwire]
Global mobile music revenues will skyrocket from $8.9 billion in 2007 to nearly $17.6 billion in 2012, according to Juniper Research. The firm also predicts that mobile subscriptions offering unlimited music downloads on a rental basis will overcome demand for paid-for original recordings.

Multicultural Players Make Social Networks, Mobile Their Priorities [AdAge]
38% of multicultural advertisers use mobile marketing, compared to just 28% of general market advertisers, according to a survey by the Association of National Advertisers. Marketers targeting the Hispanic and African-American communities are also making social networks a priority, adding Spanish-language pages and creating campaigns through sites like BlackPlanet.

ESPN and MobiTV Partner to Launch ESPN Mobile TV [WorldScreen]
The sports network teams up with MobiTV, a mobile entertainment provider, to launch at 24/7 channel exclusively for mobile. ESPN Mobile TV will air a mix of live simulcast sports events, breaking sports news, etc., as well as mobile-exclusive shows like ESPN ReSet, ScoreCenter and Fantasy Football Now.

Youku.com, the top video sharing site in China just one year after launching, announced that it passed the 100 million daily video views mark, a feat achieved by YouTube in October 2006. With 12 million daily users, Youku is on its way to becoming the “YouTube of China”, according to this article.

Online Video Attracts Six Out of Ten Internet Users Weekly [MediaPost]
According to a report from Horowitz Associates, six out of ten high speed Internet users watch/download online video content at least once a week and 86% do so on a monthly basis, compared to 45% and 71%, respectively, in the 2006 study. News and user-generated, non-professional content are the most often viewed genres, followed by movie previews/trailers, music videos, and previews/segments of TV shows.

comScore announces plans to begin tracking the number of users accessing widgets on websites and social networks like Facebook, a move that could significantly help developers in their efforts to attract advertisers. Nearly 586 million unique online users viewed a piece of widget software in November 2007, according to market research firm.
